Kawanakajima Country Club is an 18-hole course laid out over hilly terrain in Sarashina Aritabi, in the hills south of Nagano City. It was designed by architect Rokuzo Asami and opened for play in 1980. The club is reached by taxi in about 15 minutes from JR Shinonoi Station, or roughly 40 minutes from Nagano Station, and by car in about 30 minutes from the Nagano Interchange or 25 minutes from the Koshoku Interchange. Carts are fitted with GPS navigation, and caddies are available on an optional basis for golfers who want one. The clubhouse includes a bath, giving players a place to unwind after finishing a round in the hills. Its setting away from central Nagano and its hilly routing make it a course suited to golfers looking to combine a round with time in the surrounding Sarashina countryside.
