Kyoto Golf Club's Kamigamo Course is an 18-hole, par-69 hilly course in Kamigamo-honyama, Kita-ku, Kyoto, opened in 1949. The course was designed by Major Harold Sheffield, with some sources also crediting Shiro Akaboshi as a co-designer. It plays to a yardage of 5,827 from the back tees. Green fees start from 15,910 yen on weekdays and 24,160 yen on weekends. The course is reached from Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line's Kitaoji Station, about a 10-minute taxi ride away, or by car via the Meishin Expressway's Kyoto-Minami or Kyoto-Higashi interchanges, roughly 35 minutes away. Opened just four years after the end of the Second World War, it is one of the older postwar golf courses in the Kyoto area, and its hilly terrain and shorter par-69 routing distinguish it from the club's Funayama Course nearby.
