La Foret Shuzenji Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 hilly course in Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, opened in 1972. The back-tee yardage runs to 6,502 yards. The course was designed by Tsuneo Ishikawa across hill terrain inland from the Izu peninsula's east coast. Golfers can reach the club by a free shuttle bus, about 25 minutes from Shuzenji Station on the Izuhakone Railway, or by car, roughly 2 kilometers from the Ohira Interchange on the Amagi-Kita section of the Izu-Ju Expressway. Carts here are riding carts equipped with GPS tablets. After the round, players can use the club's onsen bath, drawing on the hot-spring water the Shuzenji area is known for. With its onsen facility and shuttle-bus access from the station, the club is set up for golfers arriving by train as well as by car.
