Ohiradai Country Club is a 27-hole golf course in Minagawa-jonai-cho, Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture, opened in 1974. The three nine-hole courses combine for a par of 108 over a back-tee yardage of 9,840 yards. The layout was designed by architect Akira Sato across hilly terrain on the outskirts of the city. The club is reached from the Tohoku Expressway's Tochigi Interchange, about 7 kilometers away, making it accessible by car from the Tokyo area in around 90 minutes. Rounds are played without caddies, using five-seat riding carts, a self-service format that has become standard at many Japanese clubs. The clubhouse includes a bath, allowing golfers to shower and soak after a round in the traditional Japanese style. Between its 1974 opening, hilly three-course routing, and proximity to the Tochigi Interchange, Ohiradai fits the profile of a mid-size country club built during the region's golf development of the 1970s.
