Tanegashima Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course in Nakatane, Kumage District, Kagoshima Prefecture, on Tanegashima Island. American architect Karl Litten designed the course, which opened in 1991 and plays over hilly terrain. From the back tees it measures 7,024 yards, a total that ranks it among the longer 18-hole layouts in the prefecture. As a single-course club, all 18 holes are routed across one hilly property, following the natural elevation of the site rather than a flattened template. Litten, known for hilly and resort-style routings, shaped the course around that terrain. The club sits in the town of Nakatane on Tanegashima, an island off the southern coast of Kyushu in Kagoshima Prefecture, giving golfers a par-72, 7,024-yard test on island ground.
