The Country Club Japan is an 18-hole, par-72 hilly course in Kisarazu, Chiba Prefecture, with a total yardage of 7,247 yards. It was designed by Shunsuke Kato, with a subsequent remodel by Kyoichi Nagatari. The club can be reached from Tokyo Station via the limited express Sazanami train to JR Kisarazu Station, about 55 minutes, followed by a club bus of roughly 35 minutes. By car, it is around 10 minutes from Kisarazu-Higashi IC on the Ken-O Expressway, or about 20 minutes from Anesaki-Sodegaura IC on the Tateyama Expressway. A caddie is required for every round at this course, and golfers ride in electromagnetic-guided riding carts that follow a fixed track around the course. The combination of a single 18-hole layout, mandatory caddie service, and guided carts gives the round a more structured pace than at self-play facilities nearby.
