Tsukuba Country Club

Tsukuba Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 woodland course in Tsukubamirai, Ibaraki, that opened in 1959. The original layout was designed by Sato Masaru, and the course was redesigned in 2006 by Kawada Taizo, giving it a blend of classic Japanese woodland routing and more modern course architecture. From the back tees it plays to 7,073 yards, a length that gives the course genuine challenge for low-handicap and touring golfers. Green fees start from 12,035 yen on weekdays and 28,810 yen on weekends, placing it in the mid-to-upper range for the Ibaraki area. Visitors arriving by train can reach the club via Tsukuba Express's Mirai-daira Station, with a club bus covering the roughly eight-minute transfer from the station; drivers can use the Joban Expressway's Yatabe interchange. With more than six decades of history and a 2006 redesign that kept the course current, Tsukuba Country Club is one of the more established, longer-yardage options among the courses clustered around Tsukubamirai.
