Zuien Country Club, known in Japanese as the Nishi-Kobe course, is an 18-hole hilly golf course in Nishi-ku, Kobe, Hyogo, designed by architect Robert von Hagge. The course is located in Ikawadani-cho, close to the city center, and is reachable from Gakuentoshi Station on the Kobe Municipal Subway Seishin Line in about five minutes by taxi. By car, the Maebiraki interchange on the Hanshin Expressway Route 7 Kitakobe Line is about two minutes away, and the course is roughly 40 minutes from the Suita interchange on the Chugoku Expressway. Zuien Country Club operates without caddy service, and players use manually operated carts fitted with GPS navigation rather than remote-controlled models. The combination of a Robert von Hagge design and hilly terrain gives the layout its character, and the proximity to both subway and expressway access makes it a convenient stop for visitors touring the Kobe region.
