What the club confirmed (Sep 25, 2026)

Small groups. Solo golfers and twosomes are accepted with a per-player surcharge.

Language. The staff do not speak English and no interpreter is required; we arrange everything in Japanese beforehand and support you by phone on the day.

Booking window. Tee times open 3 months before the play date.

Through-play. 18 holes straight is possible depending on tee availability at the turn; the standard round has a lunch break after 9.

Tattoos. Covered tattoos are fine on the course, but not in the bath area, which is also where the showers are.

Rental clubs. The club has a small number of rental sets, including one left-handed men’s set. We can also arrange a set delivered to the course, subject to availability, with payment confirmed by noon Japan time five business days before play.

Full details, including surcharges and the club’s cancellation fees, are on the Ibusuki Golf Club page.

Miyazaki Lakeside Golf Club (Miyazaki)

A Minoru Takifuji design opened in 1991 on rolling hills with views of the Hyuga-nada Sea. Three large ponds bring water into play on 12 of the 18 holes, and the bentgrass greens are large. The course lists the highest course rating in Miyazaki Prefecture (75.1).

Getting there. From Miyazaki Airport, approximately 20 minutes by taxi. From Kiyotake IC (Higashi-Kyushu Expressway), approximately 10 minutes.

Green fees. Weekday ¥12,000 / Weekend ¥18,000, paid at the course.

How do I plan a golf trip to Kyushu?

Fly in. Ibusuki is reached from Kagoshima Airport and Miyazaki Lakeside from Miyazaki Airport. The two are in different prefectures, so treat each as its own golf day.

Drive or take a taxi. Neither course is a walk from a station; a rental car or taxi is the practical way to arrive.

Stay for the onsen. Ibusuki is known as a hot-spring town. See golf and onsen in Japan for the clubhouse bath and tattoo rules.

Kyushu’s southern climate is mild in the cooler months. For other warm-weather options, see Okinawa and Kochi.
